Starting in 1965, the PRR Samuel Rea Shops in Hollidaysburg, PA built G41 and G41A coil cars. PRR production of the G41 was in 1965 (87 cars). PRR production of the G41A was from 1966-1968, with some cars built new by the PC in 1968! (Over 270 cars built in total by PRR/PC.) These steel haulers have a unique appearance, with their 6 troughs, relatively short car length and tall rounded hoods. Eventually, most of the earlier G41 cars were modified to the G41A appearance.
These new decal sets are aimed at the Tangent Scale Models G41A Coil Car.
The SE-30 PRR G41/G41A set includes all of the external body lettering, hood lettering as well an interior trough lettering, striping, and loading badges to letter two cars. If needed, ACI labels can be purchased with my SE-14 ACI set here. A detailed lettering diagram is included. Why settle for anything less?
The SE-31 PC G41A set includes lettering for 3 different styles of repaints: All of the external lettering and COTS as well an interior trough lettering, striping, and loading badges to letter three cars. If needed, ACI labels can be purchased with my SE-14 ACI set here. The PC lettering includes lots of extra data to handle different styles of repaints, different styles of COTS, body logos, hood logos and reweighs. Of course, a detailed lettering diagram is included. The goal of my sets is to letter cars accurately and completely, across a variety of prototype options.
