Norfolk & Western Pullman Standard 4750 Covered Hoppers 1973+

The Norfolk & Western rostered two thousand 4750cf covered hoppers. They were assembled by the NW's Roanoke Shops from Pullman Standard kits. This decal set is specifically aimed at the cars delivered in 1973 and 1974:

NW 177000-178000, Class HC-71, Built 1973-74

Many of these cars continue to serve on the present day NS. This decal set includes all of the data you need to decal two cars. You provide the ACI lable, if it is appropriate for the era you are modeling. I have included properly "stretched" NW lettering to cover the Tangent Scale Models 4750 ribs.

I have also included some extra data to handle the (500) additional cars that came online in 1979 (HC-71 178001-178500) and (500) cars that were added in 1980 (HC-78 178501-178900.). This lettering will certainly help get you there, as the majority of the lettering was shared between the classes. But I model the early 1970s, so my research focus was on the earlier cars.
