Norfolk & Western Pullman Standard 4750 Covered Hoppers 1973+

The Norfolk & Western rostered two thousand 4750cf covered hoppers. They were assembled by the NW's Roanoke Shops from Roanoke and Pullman Standard parts. This decal set is specifically aimed at the 1500 cars delivered in 1973-1979 covering the HC-71 class.

Many of these cars continue to serve on the present day NS. This decal set includes all of the data you need to decal two different cars. You provide the ACI lable, if it is appropriate for the era you are modeling. (See my decal set SE-14 here!) I have included properly "stretched" NW lettering to cover the Tangent Scale Models 4750 ribs.

I have also included some extra data to handle the (500) slightly-different cars that were added in 1980 (HC-78 178501-178900.) These cars have a peaked roof, and might make interesting kitbashes from the Tangent model. This lettering will certainly help get you there, as the majority of the lettering was shared between the classes. But I model the early 1970s, so my research focus was on the earlier cars.
