Illinois Central Pullman Standard 4750 Covered Hopper 1972+
On August 10th, 1972, the IC and GM&O merged to form the Illinois Central Gulf. During this merger month, the IC was literally in the middle of receiving a 300 car order of Pullman Standard 4750 covered hoppers. The first 50 covered hoppers came painted in the IC Split Rail Orange. The rest would begin receiving the "New" ICG image (see ICG-59).
These 50 4750 cu.ft. covered hoppers, numbered 765300-765349, hold the distinction of being the last new cars delivered to the IC.
These hoppers lasted through the ICG era, and into the 2000s. This decal set includes all of the data you need to decal one car. The decal set has been redone completely to be even more accurate and is designed to be used with the Tangent Scale Models PS 4750 Covered Hopper. It also includes custom fitted logo panels to form to the Tangent ribs, making decaling the logo easier than ever.
Another photo of the series, IC 765331, can be found on RRPictureArchives.net here.
A detailed lettering diagram is included. This set is printed in black and white and includes all lettering for an as-delievered car except for the ACI label.
Cost: $8.00 per set.
