Illinois Central Gulf 40' / 50' Boxcar 18" Lettering 1973+

By early 1973, the ICG changed to a bold font for its lettering and new I-ball emblem stencils were cut, utilizing a thinner cross section for the "I." Both 40' and 50' cars wore the smaller 18" lettering (compared to the 21" lettering in set ICG-37 ).

Examples of these ICG cars lasted through the ICG era, up through the 1990s. This decal set includes all of the data you need to decal one 40' or 50' car. Branchline has excellent 40' and 50' kits available to provide starting points to model these cars.

This decal set has been completely reworked from the ground up in 2018 -- all new hand-drawn artwork, screen printing and accuracy are at the top of the list of changes.

A detailed lettering diagram is included, with suggested lettering layouts for the 40' and 50' cars. This set is printed in black, white and yellow.
