Illinois Central Gulf 40' / 50' Boxcar (Early Thin Lettering) 1972+

The ICG's first version of its freight colors utilized a thinner font with a wider "I" in the I-ball emblem. Cars painted in the first 6 months or so of the merger at the Centralia and McComb shops received this scheme.

Examples of these ICG cars lasted through the ICG era, into the 1990s. This decal set includes all of the data you need to decal one 40' or 50' car. Branchline has excellent 40' and 50' kits available to provide starting points to model these cars.

This decal set has been completely reworked from the ground up in 2018 -- all new hand-drawn artwork, screen printing and accuracy are at the top of the list of changes.

A detailed lettering diagram is included, with suggested lettering layouts for the 40' and 50' cars. This set is printed in black, white and yellow.
