Illinois Central Gulf PS 4427 Covered Hopper

The Illinois Central took delivery of a total of 200 4427 cu.ft. covered hoppers in 1964 from Pullman Standard. Eventually renumbered into the 745200-745399 series, many were repainted into ICG Orange *or* ICG Gray.

This set letters one car in the 1972-1978 ICG era. Both 5 foot and 8 foot emblems are included. COTS/Lube plates have also been added, as the modeler only needs to supply an ACI label to complete the car. The decal set is printed in black and white. HO Modelers will want to start with the Walther's 4427 Covered Hopper Kit. Additional details can be added like correct round hatches on the roof, and correct center running boards.

Note: This set now includes slightly "stretched" 8-foot ICG emblems to match the ribs of the Walthers PS 4427 Covered Hopper. That is why the emblems below appear to be slightly oval in shape. Once laid on the car across the ribs, the oval will take on the normal circle shape.
