Peavey - King Midas Flour Mills GATC 2600 Airslide Covered Hoppers 1954+

This decal set contains the proper lettering for the King Midas Flour Mills GATC 2600 cu.ft. early body style Airslide Covered Hoppers. In HO, models from Athearn, Eastern Car Works or Con Cor can be used. All of the cars have gray bodies and ends, and have black bays/centersills between the bolsters.

GACX 42238, Early body style 11-54+ (Currenly, unknown series lower bounds, possibly GACX 42229-42238)
GACX 42504, Early body style 12-55+

Enough lettering is supplied to letter 2 different cars.

Railway Prototype Cyclopedia Vol 22 has an extensive 38-page article on the early private Airslide cars in general, including 4 photos of King Midas cars. This volume is a must-have in my opinion. Seriously, find a way to acquire this issue. The infornmation, detail photos, and car photos are an indispensible modeling resource.



The decal set is printed in black, white and red. A lettering diagram is included. Thanks to Ed Hawkins for the help get this set completed.
